Being in the wedding industry, connections and word of mouth can sometimes make the difference between a bride booking with you or not! After meeting so many incredible vendors over the last year, I thought it would be super fun to start a new series - Spotlight Saturday. This series will be posted once a week, and will highlight one local small business, creative, or vendor each time! For the months of September and October, each Spotlight will be wedding themed! My hope is to bring networking opportunities and connections to other small creatives in the industry, aligning them with their ideal clients, and filling up their weekends with lots of authentic memories!

Q: Tell me your story! What made you want to open a wedding venue?

A: We actually weren’t looking to build a venue. The chapel was going to be my “she shed”. It was to bring a bit of history back to our ranch. There used to be a church on our road, next to our ranch and they performed baptisms in our creek. The last service was in the ‘30’s and the church was torn down in the late 50’s, early 60’s. Then, Osage Hall was going to be our party barn. I had friends and family saying if we built them, people might like to use them for weddings and parties... now here we are! We’re a private ranch with a chapel and Osage Hall that people can use and we LOVE it!

Q: Tell me about the building process! What obstacles did you face? How long did it take?

A: The process took a little under a year and we only had one challenge.. other than that everything went very smoothly! We kept adding more outdoor vignettes for us and others to enjoy, which made the building process more fun!

Q: What was your inspiration for the design of your venue?

A: The inspiration... preserving the history of the area!! The church, and the feeling of community the church brought.

Q: Do you cater towards a specific type of bride or couple?

A: We cater to any couple that likes a farm feel with a modern flare. I'd say the design is Modern Farmhouse meets Ralph Lauren Equestrian. We can be rustic... but we’re a little more modern. The brides seeking us out want a relaxed wedding under the stars but with a modern design.

Q: Do you have a favorite area or piece at your venue?

A: I love everything about our venue, because every building & vignette of the venue has a story. From the chapel to Osage Hall named after the trees planted on our ranch by the pioneers. Even the bridges both have a story, the native grapevines and Osage branches on the other, tell the history of our ranch. It’s too hard to pick a favorite!

Q: What's the biggest piece of advice you could give to a bride when looking for a venue?

A: I tell the brides looking at our ranch, that a venue needs to fit them and their personality. We’re a venue for brides & grooms that want an EXPERIENCE for their wedding. I always say no one remembers what was for dinner... they remember the presentation! We love giving brides and grooms, (and their guests), a wedding to remember!
