Stem and Light's Bridal Shootout
Last week I got to attend my first ever styled shoot at a new studio in Weatherford called Stem and Light! Let me be the first to say that the hour drive from Fort Worth is WELL worth it! Stem and Light is one of the most beautiful studios I've ever been to! It's located out in the middle of nowhere, which is actually kind of refreshing, and has a super charming vibe to it! The outside is absolutely adorable, with space for an outdoor wedding ceremony, and a bridal suite out back. Inside they've painted the walls white, put in gorgeous wood flooring, and added a little kitchen area for events and refreshments. In terms of lighting, it's a photographer's dream - so. many. windows.
The owner, Rebecca, had brought in a model and set up a mock wedding type of situation for photographers to come learn and get fresh content. She had several different flat lays with wedding stationery, ribbon, rings, and other little extras along with flowers and a cake for us to play around with. I LOVE detail shots, but have never been too great at arranging the materials, so this definitely helped me out! It was also a ton of fun to watch and learn from the other photographers who attended.
When we got to the bridal photo portion, you already know I was jumping up and down! Bridal photos have always been so much fun for me to capture, and although this was Ellen's first time modeling a wedding dress, she killed it! While most of the day was treated as a workshop, with Rebecca posing Ellen and having us take turns shooting, she also really allowed us to show our own creativity with her towards the end.
I had the best time at this styled shoot and would do it again in a heartbeat! I learned so much, got to meet some really awesome photographers from DFW, and discovered a new studio that I'm in love with! Not to mention, after being locked up at home for a few months, it was so nice to get back to shooting creatively.
p.s. these are my absolute favorite photos.. of all time. :)
